Character Information
Wanda was born in Sokovia, a former landlocked nation in Central-Southeastern Europe that was quickly succumbing to war from both internal and external factors. Twelve minutes younger than her twin brother Pietro, they lived as normal lives as their parents Iryna and Olek Maximoff could provide. At the age of 10, all this changed when a bomb from Stark Industries destroyed their home, killed their parents, and another explosive that failed to go off kept them trapped in the rubble of their home. After two days of being trapped, afraid of setting the bomb off, they were rescued and were moved to a local orphanage.
She alongside her brother participated in many anti-American protests, projecting their anger outward more and more as they grew older. This desire to fight for their country and to set right what was taken from them led them to participate in experiments led by HYDRA, promising them a chance at doing exactly that. Wanda had been hesitant, but her brother, Pietro, convinced her to go through with it. As subjects to experiments, they were exposed to the Mind Stone, one of the six Infinity Stones, gem-like objects created by the Big Bang from six singularities. This stone, when it made contact with Wanda, awakened within her, at the time, her dormant powers—powers that bind her to a prophecy she has no real recollection or understanding of at this time in her canon.
From that moment on, Wanda gained her psionic powers and Pietro, once exposed, too, to his super speed. Other subjects to these experiments had died in the presence of the Mind Stone, but the twins were considered 'miracles' as the only ones who came out of these trials changed, different. They used their powers to seek revenge against Tony Stark, and in turn were momentarily enemies of the Avengers. After a series of events, the twins saw the errors of their ways, and in trying to save their country from certain destruction, Pietro lost his life, and Wanda lost all connection to a home.
She joined the Avengers shortly thereafter, in part because she had nowhere else to go, and, in part because as an enhanced individual, it was the best way to keep an eye on her. Her training with the Avengers helped her grow confident in her abilities and powers, but young as she was in this superhero gig, she made far too many mistakes, often deadly ones. The events of Avengers: Civil War saw her siding with Steve, not wanting to sign herself away to the American government to deploy the heroes as need be. This resulted in an internal conflict, and one destroyed German airport later, she was taken into custody, a prisoner of the Raft, before finding herself in this new world.

Appearance
APPEARANCE At this point in her canon point, Wanda has her long, brown hair. She's 5'6", slim and slightly toned, with green eyes. Her hair is almost always down, but she will tie it up in a ponytail or a bun once in a while. Her face is usually set in a cold expression, her lips tend to be turned downwards, her eyes unfriendly. CLOTHING Wanda dresses in whatever way is easy and comfortable. Usually in jeans, with durable boots or running shoes, regardless of the weather, and will sometimes sport a baseball cap. Sometimes she'll edge on a more grunge style should she find the clothes for it in the thrift shops. The only things that see a big change are her shirts and sweaters depending on how hot or cold it is. Falling a little on the vain side, she likes to collect rings and necklaces. DEMEANOR Wanda is a little cold towards others; her expression is usually tight and grimacing, her shoulders wound up and her arms crossed. She doesn't want to be the center of attention and sticks to the sidelines. She warms up significantly after becoming familiar with people, though her humor and words will always be a touch dry. She is socially awkward, but doesn't mind being around those she likes.
AURAL Wanda's from Sokovia, and it shows when she speaks. Under the tutelage of Natasha Romanoff, she learned to modulate her accent here and there to sound somewhat more American if she wants to. However, unless stated otherwise, she'll be speaking with a Sokovian accent. ( x ) ( x )
OLFACTORY Floral scent with powdery tones. Wanda tries to keep clean most times, though there's sometimes a faint scent of tobacco on her clothes and hair.
Skills & Abilities
Although her psionic abilities exist along the tier of telepathic abilities, these powers are magical in nature given that she received them through the cosmic energies of the Mind Stone. Whenever she engages in her psionic powers, they manifest in a red mist that covers her hands and body. Using theses powers requires her to focus and use the movement of her hands to direct the psionic energy.
PSIONIC ENERGY MANIPULATION Wanda can project energy blasts of her own psionic and telekinetic energy, allowing her to hit, push/pull or blow away her targets, potentially exerting enough force to destroy them. This energy manifests itself in a red color around her hands, and she can thus manipulate the energy it creates. TELEKINESIS falls as a standard under this category. She can use telekinesis to move objects and even individuals, being able to use her psionic energy manipulation to affect and control molecules and particles. She has used these powers for feats as simple as moving wooden blocks while suspending them in the air, to stopping a train from its high-speed derailment. The stronger she’s gotten, the more capable she is in using her powers to lift and move heavier objects, including people, and has shown to be capable of using this branch of powers to telekinetically repair objects at a molecular level. Basically, if the object has mass and a structure, Wanda can most likely manipulate it. In the same way that she can repair and bind objects together through her telekinesis and psionic energy manipulation, Wanda can also use her energy to completely DISINTEGRATE objects.
FORCEFIELD GENERATION Wanda can make a barrier of red energy around herself to protect herself and others, and deflect attacks. Not only has she used this as a defense mechanism, but she has also used it as a barrier to protect herself when falling from great heights and land safely should she crash land. This is generally very useful, as she isn’t a close-contact combatant, and gives her a defensive edge over those who are.
LEVITATION/FLIGHT Wanda can modulate the energy around her hands to create a sort of blast to help propel herself up in the air. She does not fly by willing herself to do so, but by manipulating the gravity around herself. She can levitate several feet up in the air and travel by this means.
MENTAL MANIPULATION Through her psionic abilities, Wanda can also apply a fair deal of TELEPATHIC abilities; she can read minds, communicate telepathically, and experience the thoughts and memories of others as well as using a type of illusory hypnosis and leaving those under her ‘spell’ in a sort of trance. She can manipulate memory, thoughts, actions, emotions and the senses of others at will; she would also use this to EMOTIONALLY MANIPULATE others by eliciting fear and emotional pain. However, this is an ability that she tries to not use as often.
